Course Information
Description	Advanced harmony voice leading, score analysis and writing of more advanced tonal harmony including chromaticism and extended-tertian structures. Optional correlated study at the keyboard.

Learning Outcomes	Construct and identify extended-tertian and chromatic harmonies. Analyze musical compositions, which include various forms of tonal modulation utilizing standard roman-numeral symbols.  Demonstrate proper voice-leading practices through composition in appropriate styles.  Demonstrate concepts covered in class on the keyboard, including progressions that utilize modulation.  Demonstrate an understanding of rhythmic meter and note duration through score analysis and composition.

Course Policies
Instructor Policies	You must email me prior to any absence, and as soon as possible for any emergency absence(s). All grades are final.
Attendance Policy	There are about 15 weeks in every semester; students are expected to attend at least 14 lessons per semester. Final grades will be reduced by 5 percentage points for every lesson missed. More than 3 unexcused absences will result in a failing grade for the course. Three or more late arrivals to class will count as one unexcused absence.

COVID 19 Information	The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition directly to their local health department. Students should also contact their course faculty to report their quarantine status. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings when directly exposed to COVID 19 in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies	No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
